From the Factory Floor to the F1 Circuit

If you follow us here at Vertical Vendors (and parent company Metalfacture), you will know we live and breathe precision British engineering. Whether we are crafting custom sheet metal or engineering automated retail solutions, we are obsessed with quality, speed, and pushing performance to the absolute limit.

So when the opportunity came up to sponsor one of the UK’s most exciting up-and-coming racing drivers, Bertie Bream, it was an absolute no-brainer.

Recently, we traded the factory floor for the pit lane at the legendary Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit—the home of British motorsport—for the latest round of the GT Cup Championship. And what a weekend it turned out to be!

The Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo

Watching a V10-powered Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo thunder past the pit wall at well over 150 mph is an exhilarating experience in itself. But seeing the Vertical Vendors logo emblazoned across the bonnet and doors as it attacked Abbey and Copse corners took the buzz to a whole new level!

Bertie joined forces with the experienced team at Topcats Racing for the grueling GT Cup 100 weekend at Silverstone. The GT Cup grid brings together some of the fiercest GT racing talent in Europe, pitting GT3s, Super Trofeos, and GT4s against each other in wheel-to-wheel battles across long endurance and sprint races.

Navigating a massive grid on a high-speed circuit like Silverstone requires absolute focus, tactical patience, and flawless machine reliability.

From the moment the green light dropped, Bertie demonstrated exactly why he is considered one of the brightest young talents on the British circuit today.

P2 on the Podium, Hard Work Paid Off

After a drama-filled weekend featuring safety cars, tactical pit stops, and high-intensity stint management, the hard work paid off in style.

Bertie brought the No. 1 Topcats Racing Lamborghini home to claim a P2 podium finish in class!

Stepping up onto the historic Silverstone podium and lifting the silver GT Cup trophy was a massive milestone for Bertie, Topcats Racing, and everyone who supports them. For Ben, James, and the entire team back home at Vertical Vendors, seeing our logo up on that podium was a proud moment.

Why We Back British Motorsport

For us, sponsoring Bertie isn't just about sticking our logo on a fast car. It’s about shared values:

  1. Precision Engineering: Motorsport demands zero tolerances, just like our manufacturing process.
  2. Grit & Resilience: Success on the track requires late nights, constant testing, and pushing through challenges.
  3. Proudly British: Backing local, home-grown talent competing at national landmark venues like Silverstone.

Bertie’s dedication, professional approach, and sheer speed on track reflect everything we strive for in our own business every day.

What’s Next?

We want to send a massive congratulations to Bertie Bream, Topcats Racing, and the entire crew for a stellar performance at Silverstone!

We are thrilled to be along for the ride during this championship campaign and cannot wait to see what Bertie achieves in the upcoming rounds.
